Bangla glossary

The Bangla word our lessons use for each idea in programming and data science, and why we chose it. Every lesson uses the same word for the same idea, so you never have to wonder whether two words mean one thing.

How we chose these words

Code stays exactly as Python writes it. print, if, for, def and True are never translated — you type them as they are.
Where you'll meet the English word — in documentation, in error messages, at work — we keep it, written in Bangla script: ফাংশন, লাইব্রেরি, এরর.
Where there's a Bangla word you already use, and it won't hide the English term you'll need later, we use it: মান, শর্ত, সংখ্যা.
Sometimes a lesson gives both the first time you meet a word — the Bangla, then the English in brackets — and uses just one after that.
One idea, one word. Once a word is here, every lesson uses it.
